The Centre is a place for children and families to explore, learn, build friendships, have fun and receive encouragement and care in an inclusive environment.
Our holistic approach to learning is based on the national Early Years Learning Framework. Cottesloe Kindergartena and Child Care Centre is rated as meeting the National Quality Standards in all seven quality areas.
Daily activities and routines are developed with each child’s strengths, interests and needs in mind using input from children and parents. Our comprehensive monthly curriculum is adapted to each child’s personality, age and stage. Plus, we intersperse plenty of open-ended experiences, because we believe all children need to have fun and freedom to explore every day.
Our incursion program showcases topics such as native animals, science music dentists, doctors and pets. Our music program is supported by Angela and Regina our pianists who attend twice a week. We also have French classes twice a week with Sabine. and soccer with Rob or Zac.
We are very proud of our new and improved premises. Thanks to a successful Lotterywest grant application and extensive community consultation, Cottesloe Child Care Centre moved from Railway Street to our new premises on Marmion Street in late 2012. The site was previously occupied by North Cottesloe Pre-Primary.
Lotterywest funding allowed the Centre to complete a new build and renovate existing buildings and grounds with assistance from the Town of Cottesloe. The result is an exceptional, purpose-built facility in an attractive, natural setting.
