Once a child receives a placement the parent and child commence an orientation program which encourages a sense of belonging. It’s our way of getting to know each child and their family from the very beginning.
During the enrolment process we require parents to give information about themselves and their child – to get and understanding of home routines, lifestyle, health matters, any special needs to be aware of and the interests of each child.
Parent and emergency contact details are sought and along with parental permission on Centre procedures. It’s also where parents or carers can outline any special talents, hobbies, occupations or cultural interests, as there is scope for these to be included in our program.
A parent orientation is held each year in January/February. This is especially useful for new families to the Centre to assist settling their child into childcare.
Parents are also encouraged to have regular visits to the Centre prior to commencing childcare to help children learn their way around and parents to see the Centre in action.
